Six Top Tips for Summer Dinner Party Hosting
As restrictions are lifting and longer, sunnier days are upon us, we have more time and opportunity to spend time with friends and family.
We have put together a list of our six top tips and ideas to get you inspired and fully prepped for hosting.
1. Pick a theme
Having a theme for your dinner party is the first place to start when planning. This will help you to narrow down your options and get a better idea of what kind of decorations you want. The Emerald Paradise Collection boasts a sophisticated, timeless palm leaf and gold detailing for a tropical, summery theme.
2. Plan your menu in advance
BBQ? Tapas? Take some time to plan out your menu – starters, mains, desserts, finger foods, drinks. Ask your guests if they have any dietary preferences first, of course. The Sorbet Collection presents lightweight, stain-resistant plates, bowls, trays and more to assist your summertime hosting.
3. Get comfortable
British weather is hardly ever promising. Rather than compromising having your dinner party indoors due to the fleeting changes in weather, why not invest in a canopy or outdoor covering to keep your guests dry while enjoying food and drinks together? Keep some blankets and throws nearby for when it gets a little chilly outside.
4. Lights, please!
The right lighting can take any party from good to amazing. If you don’t have some at home, invest in garland, string, or fairy lights for the garden. They'll look best wrapped around your canopy, on the edges of the table, or around your garden door frame, as the sun is setting.
5. All hands on deck
Two or three is always better than one. Rope a friend in to help you set everything up!
6. Most importantly…
Have fun! Planning and organising can sometimes be stressful. After the work you put into planning, you deserve to enjoy yourself! Summer is for fun, after all.
