Five Steps for a Stress-Free Christmas

Let's be real for a moment, Christmas could be a little bit of a Marmite subject. After the year we've had, it could be sparking joy in you or complete dread.

One of the best ways to eliminate 'the fear' that may be cropping up when you think of Christmas is to be prepared. Planning is an effective eliminator of stress, so we've come up with five ways to help you to have a fabulous festive season.

Set a budget

There is a lot of pressure to show off and show out for Christmas. Take that pressure off yourself. Life has been hectic enough without the added pressure of overspending.

If this year has taught us anything, it's the importance of quality time and how precious life really is. So take a little time to sit down and work out how much you can comfortably spend, then commit to that figure.

Lists, lists and more lists

Our founder Melissa loves a list. Our advice is to make a list for everything. The food order, gifts, decorations, everything! Once it's out of your head and on paper, you'll have a much better idea of what needs to be done before the big day.

Order your gifts online

With lockdown, restrictions and everything else, getting out and about in the shops is less and less of an appealing option. So why not order online? Many online stores, including us at Honey Bee Home will wrap your gift and send it straight to your recipient.

Get crafty

If you love spending a few hours on something that can help you to switch off, then you can't beat a bit of Christmas craft. Why not try your hand at a wreath or a garland?

Get into the Christmas spirit

One of the most fun ways to get into the Christmas spirit is to immerse yourself in it. We're talking mince pies, a drop of Baileys and Christmas films. All. Day. Long.

And that's it! With just a few weeks to go, there's still plenty of time to get ahead and make sure that Christmas is as stress-free as possible, then you can focus on making memories.
