Behind the Brand: Meet Melissa
I received a suggestion from Rebecca, on Facebook and decided to run with it. She pointed out that not all of you who read this blog know who the person behind the brand is. So here we are.
My name is Melissa and to put it simply, I love luxury, interiors and beautiful things. For quite some time, I've wanted to start my foray into the world of homeware but it took a little while for the idea of Honey Bee Home as you see it now to become fully formed.
The photos on this post were taken by Yasmin Qureshi. She's the genius behind the camera for the product photography too. You can check out the rest of her work here.
Alongside running Honey Bee Home, I love interior styling. There will be a completely separate site dedicated to that but in the meantime, my time is devoted to you guys here.
I started Honey Bee Home out of a desire to bring beautiful touches of luxury to your home. I believe that many of life's little pleasures are found in the details. A change in your home doesn't have to mean a complete makeover. So the philosophy behind Honey Bee Home is simple: 'beautiful things for your beehive'. If it's simply gorgeous and excellent quality, you are likely to find it here.
Here are a handful of facts about me:
My love for interiors started quite early and I've always been creative in one way or another.
I took GCSE Textiles at secondary school and have been working on a way to bring it in to my career, ever since I left school. Ta-da!
My dream job is exactly what I'm doing now, with a lot more interior styling thrown in.
My coffee order is a soy vanilla latte.
My favourite colour is grey. I love that it matches with near enough everything but is slightly more versatile than black.
I have a pet cat named Floriana.
I collect vinyl.
I studied English and Creative Writing at University.
My favourite cocktail is an Espresso Martini.
